Privacy policy

Short version: no accounts and no analytics. What you type into a tool stays in your browser. Most pages show ads from an ad partner that may use cookies.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts. You never sign up or log in.
  • No analytics. We don't use analytics or visitor-tracking scripts of our own.
  • No tool inputs. Everything you type into a tool, such as dates, symptoms, insurance numbers or your child's nickname, is processed in your browser. We don't receive it, and we don't send it to advertisers.

Advertising

Most pages show ads from our advertising partner, Adsterra. When an ad loads, Adsterra's code runs on that page and gets ads from Adsterra's servers. Like most ad networks, it may set cookies and collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser, device and the page you're on, to show and count ads. See Adsterra's privacy policy for what it does with that information.

  • No ads on some pages. My Smile, this page, our other policy pages and the Kids Brushing Timer have no ads.
  • Visitors in Europe and the UK are asked first. Ads load only after you choose Allow ads.
  • Your choice on this device. You can allow ads or turn them off on this device at any time:

The tools work the same with ads turned off or with an ad blocker.

What stays on your device (My Smile)

When you choose Save, the tool stores that information in your browser's local storage on your device, so you can come back to it. We can't see it, and we don't send it to anyone. You can:

  • download a backup file or restore from one on the My Smile page
  • delete everything with Delete all my data on the My Smile page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings

When you copy a tool's share link, the tool's settings are added to the end of the link after a # sign. That part of a link is never sent to our server. Share links never include names or birth dates.

Calendar files

Reminder files (.ics) are created in your browser and saved to your device. We don't receive them.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider's web server automatically records basic technical data for each request (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and reliability. We don't use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Children

Our kids' tools are written for parents. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and the Kids Brushing Timer, which children use, has no ads.
